Purpose of Position

As the manager of the Open Text Public Sector Solutions (OTPSS) Business Development Team you will work closely together with the OTPSS and Open Text teams of Account Executives, Solution/Business Consultants, Services Consultants and strategic Partners to Identify, develop, qualify and execute RFP/RFI proposals to successfully grown corporate sales and market share in the Federal, state and local government arena. This position will be focused on solutions into the US Government, including, Intelligence Community and Security Agencies.

Primary Duties

  • Successful candidate will lead proposal development efforts for small and large proposals, working with both internal and external proposal resources.
  • Ability to work with subject matter experts for content details and draft compelling proposal material for their review.
  • Ability to translate technical information into documents for technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Develops strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market online.
  • Collaborates with internal departments, such as marketing, sales, and engineering, and external partners and allies in the development and implementation of eCommerce strategies, plans and business models.
  • Seeks out and researches prospective projects through making phone calls, traveling, attending conferences, and utilizing the internet.
  • Markets new and existing customers through creation, development, and implementation of various business solutions.
  • Provides support to upper management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development or alliance development projects.
  • Recommends marketing and promotions, including advertising, special sales, and subsidiary rights.
  • Provides input to the management team on new product or services features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs.
  • Researches and learns all new emerging technologies and trends.
  • Strong time management skills. This is a deadline-driven position.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent client relationship skills. Must be able to interface internally and externally with client project team.
  • BSCS/BSEE and/or Business degree or equivalent required.
  • Requires 8 or more years in progressively responsible positions in IT consulting or application development projects.
  • Must have excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Federal government bids response.
  • Previous experience in sales or business development.
  • Experience in drafting technical responses to Federal government requests for proposals (RFPs). This is a writing intensive position requiring the ability to organize, update and write clear and persuasive narrative that presents our project approach to delivering strategic system solutions.
  • Experience in drafting proposals for enterprise-content management solutions.
  • Must have excellent oral, written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently, function effectively as a team member, and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Must have excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with information technology concepts and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in creating project plan graphics to illustrate technical concepts
  • MS Office, MS Project, Windows, Internet Explorer, and Outlook product experience a must.
  • BA and/or Business degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Position may require a US Clearance.
